I’ve heard the advice “show don’t tell” which covers something similar, but this is the first time I’ve heard the techniques called “Deep Point of View” I think I liked how she explained it. Is it a new idea? No. It’s better. Its a solid old idea.
I also try to feel the POV’s character’s feelings as I write a scene. And again she fleshes out what is really meant by “Write what you know”, which is more about the internal character relatability and not about the external trappings as much.
“You have to see the fictional world the way your fictional character does. Because if you don’t, you can’t put that down on the page and the readers won’t see it either.”
