I really appreciated this article where the author takes the time to test and share the results of working with a number of different art programs. Sometimes we as artists get into using a single program or set of programs, but the truth is there is no “right” program any more than there is a right pencil or pen. Each one lends a certain something to the product and it comes down to what you enjoy using and what meets the needs of your preferred workflow.
